Premier Hoops Basketball | Exciting New Metrowest Advanced 8 Week Ball-Handling Series | Chelsea Massachusetts

Premier Hoops is excited to announce the expansion of our basketball developmental program to the Metrowest this spring! The Boys & Girls Club of Chelsea will be offering an Advanced 8 Week Ball-Handling Series for elementary-high school level boys and girls through Premier Hoops!
With this new location, we look forward to meeting the kids who are a part of the Boys & Girls Club of Chelsea, and will also welcome outsiders from surrounding areas such as Newton, Belmont, Everett, Revere, Winthrop, Malden, Medford, Arlington, East Boston and other Metrowest communities!
The Advanced 8-Week “Dynamic Ball-Handling” Series will feature not only ball-handling drills, but other facets of the game such as: dribble move development, one-on-one drills, and up and down scrimmaging! Over the course of eight weeks boys and girls will attend two practices per week and totally transform their ball-handling strength!
This is an exciting event for Premier Hoops, because it is the first time that we have ever offered a program for the Boys and Girls Club of Chelsea! We are expecting athletes from the middle school, JV, and varsity level to train in this skill development program April through June.
The type of ball-handling drills that will be worked on throughout this 8-Week Basketball Program in Chelsea, MA are:
  • Rhythm ball strength drills
  • Two-ball drills
  • Explosive dribble move drills
  • “Elite” dribble pound series
  • 1 on 1 attack drills, full-court one on one
  • and more!
Premier Hoops is honored to work with such an incredible organization who stands for motivating and inspiring children. The Boys and Girls Club has been highly effective in impacting the lives of so many children! We know how much the kids will benefit from doing this program and how much fun they will have! Our program will not only improve their basketball ball-handling skills, but more importantly, teach them the importance of goal-setting, working hard, being respectful, and having responsibilities. As always, the group size will be limited so each player can get the individual attention they need! Over the course of 8 weeks, our coaches will provide the proper instruction to teach the athletes the proper technique on handling the ball and also using the skills in scrimmages and competitive games!
Another benefit of being in the Chelsea area will give our coaches the chance to reconnect with their old coaching grounds! Coach Katelyn Leonard, the former head coach of the Mystic Valley (Malden, MA) girls basketball team is one of our top coaches who will be involved in the Chelsea program! We are very excited to have some new talent from the Boston area be involved in our area and give them the proper coaching and techniques.
For Coach Mike Leykin, the founder of Premier Hoops, it’s a chance for him to connect back with athletes from the Metrowest. As a former basketball player at Babson College, Coach Leykin also coached summer basketball camps with athletes from Cambridge, Wellesley, Newton, Belmont, Watertown, and Needham. Chelsea, being so close to these cities, is is a very convenient location for training!
Stay tuned for more information on our other spring programs and the exciting new programs we will be offering!
